Another year of gardening fun!

This year we planted another garden! We had so much fun figuring out what we were going to grow, planting the seeds, watching them grow and then eating everything! We planted corn, green and red peppers, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, honey dew melon, watermellon, cantalope, pumpkins, baby pumpkins, cucumbers, zucchini, potatoes, onions, peas, and lettuce. When we first were planning our landscaping and how big our garden was going to be we thought that it was going to be a really good size. Now after planting and seeing how big everything gets, we are probablly going to have to expand. That is so exciting!! Everything has grown so well and we have ate a lot and shared even more!! Here are a few pictures to share.

Full view of the garden

A zucchini just starting! Can't wait to make zucchini bread.

Watermellon, almost the size of a Basketball. This is what we are REALLY excited for!

Tomatoes, they got to be about the size of my fist! That's huge!!

Cantalope and honeydew melon, almost ready!

Potato plants, looks like a mess, but should be good!

Pumpkin, bigger than a basketball.

Mini pumpkin, I have atleast 10 of these growing! They will make such a cute decoration!

Another pumpkin, 13 in all! This one is the size of a volleyball.

In one evening we picked 20 ears of corn, they are coming out of our ears;)

A much needed update

I can not believe how long it has been since I have updated my blog. Its so overwhelming that I don't know where to begin. First off, one really good reason why I have not updated in a while is because of TIME. I babysit 2 extra kids 4 days a week, all day. That makes 6 kids that I slave to all day long, so getting on the computer gets to be impossible at times. Anyways, here are a few updates of the past few months.

Blake started another year of baseball.

Kira got her first haircut.

Blake smashed his finger in the car door. The fingernail ended up falling off, GROSS!!

Kira decided to give herself a bath in the sink, with her clothes on.

Our family at Easter time.

Landin completed his orange belt and received a trophy for perfect attendance.

Jeren got his kindergarten shots, his legs hurt so bad he crawled around the house. Poor guy, he was a good sport. I think he is just excited to start school!

After 5 years or more of sitting in a box, we finally set up our trampoline! The kids love it!

Being Sneaky

Today I went into the kids bathroom to get something and when I opened their linen closet this is what I found.

The other day I told Jeren to put his clothes away and he hates (with a passion) doing it. It either ends up thrown downstairs or on his bedroom floor. This time he got sneaky, I have to give him credit for thinking of putting it in the linen closet.

Kira- Age 3

Kira went to the doctor for her 3 year check up and the first thing she said was, "no shots!". Jeren had been in a couple weeks prior for his 5 year check up and that included shots. So she made it a point to say that she DID NOT want shots. She got off the hook, no shots until she starts school. Anyways she weighs 25.8 lbs (5th %) and is 34.5" (4th %). The doc said she is definitely on the petite side, now that is an understatement:)

She is so fun to have around! She made me feel so good on Sunday when I was getting ready for church, she came in the bathroom, looked at me and said, "mom, you look so pretty". That was so sweet. She also makes a great cheerleader when everyone uses the potty! _______ you went pee pee and poo poo in the potty? Good job!! SO FUNNY! Even though I wanted a girly girl, I am so happy that she loves digging for "snakes" (worms), playing with cars and bakugan and riding her bike outside. She is learning to play with dolls and liking to do her hair to be "pretty". What would I do without her?

Kira's 3rd Birthday

Another year down, I swear Kira just had her 2nd birthday and now we are past the 3rd. How time flies! Here are a few pictures of her special day.

Boy or girl?

Sometimes I find my self questioning whether Kira is a boy or a girl? She LOVES playing with cars, it's almost scary. On Sunday she was getting ready to take a bath and she wanted to bring her cars in with her. Well she had to bring ALL of them and the only way of doing that was to push them on the chair. I commend her for thinking of that herself. It was so cute!
