Spring is coming..

Today after school Landin came running in the house "mom your flowers are growing!" So we had to go out and see the bulbs that have popped out of the ground. It was so exciting! It's proof that spring is on its way, hopefully sooner than later. Can't wait to see how pretty they look.

More Jeepin'

It is so hard having "1 day" weekends. Jesse is torn between working on the basement and going out in the jeep. Well I gave him a break and we went to a place called little Moab by Utah Lake and rode the jeep a bit. The kids had fun climbing the rocks and it was a beautiful day. Blake even found an iphone, he really wanted to keep it but made the choice to find the owner. Anyways, we are planning a family trip to Moab after school gets out, to go rock climbing and trail riding with the Jeep. That should be fun.

Kira At Work

I walked by the spare bedroom and noticed Kira talking and pushing buttons on the computer. I guess she was mimicking me. It was cute to see this little thing in the chair at the computer, it made me laugh.

Kira's Hair

I was taking pictures of the kids playing one day and noticed how long Kira's hair was getting. We can now officially put it up in pig tails. I would like to cut it to make it even, but Jesse won't let me. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Time Out...for me

I was able to go to Time Out for Women in Ogden a couple weeks ago with a couple friends. It was a much needed break. It started Friday night and went into late afternoon Saturday. There was one speaker that touched me more than anyone. She was from Africa (a neighboring country to where Jesse served his mission), a country torn apart by war. She witnessed the brutal murders of her parents and saw her own sisters' legs and arms be chopped off. While in a refugee camp she received a hygeine kit that the church produces and sends to various places in need. She shared this kit with 20 other women in this camp and it was a great blessing to them as they had no way to clean themselves or brush their teeth. She later met the missionaries and became baptized. She served a mission on temple square and is now going to the LDS business college. Her faith is so strong and it was so inspiring to me. I can not imagine seeing the things she saw or go thru the things she went thru to be where she is today.

For this Time Out For Women they asked each woman to bring a certain item to put in a hygeine kit that would go to the local womens' shelter. The were hoping for 150-200 kits, by the end of the day 350 kits were put togther. It's was wonderful to be a part of something that could help others. It always feels good to serve.

A Model in the Family

While Grandma Marilyn was at our house for Christmas she made Kira two new dresses. I still have to get a picture of her in the other one, but here is a picture of her modeling her birthday dress. It wasn't quite done, but we needed to get measurements. She just stood on the table and swayed back and forth because the dress swayed with her. It was so cute. I am going to have her wear that dress for her birthday since it as a cute little cupcake on it. Pictures to come of her other dress.

African Natives

Here are a few pictures of my two African children. I was decorating our spare bedroom in an African theme since Jesse went there on his mission (and we have lots of decorations). Jeren and Kira picked up these two masks and put them on, they looked so funny. I'm suprised they weren't scared since they do look a little scarry.

Fun at Grandma's

For the new year we went to my parents' house, it was a blast. We went to Challis Hot Springs which is about 1 1/2 hours away, it felt so good! The rest of the time we played outside and the kids got pulled around in the sled with the four wheeler. They had so much fun. The picture of Kira was so funny because she did not have any boots so we put plastic sacks on her feet and duct taped them. It looked hilarious! But it worked for a little while, until she got too cold.
