Time Out...for me

I was able to go to Time Out for Women in Ogden a couple weeks ago with a couple friends. It was a much needed break. It started Friday night and went into late afternoon Saturday. There was one speaker that touched me more than anyone. She was from Africa (a neighboring country to where Jesse served his mission), a country torn apart by war. She witnessed the brutal murders of her parents and saw her own sisters' legs and arms be chopped off. While in a refugee camp she received a hygeine kit that the church produces and sends to various places in need. She shared this kit with 20 other women in this camp and it was a great blessing to them as they had no way to clean themselves or brush their teeth. She later met the missionaries and became baptized. She served a mission on temple square and is now going to the LDS business college. Her faith is so strong and it was so inspiring to me. I can not imagine seeing the things she saw or go thru the things she went thru to be where she is today.

For this Time Out For Women they asked each woman to bring a certain item to put in a hygeine kit that would go to the local womens' shelter. The were hoping for 150-200 kits, by the end of the day 350 kits were put togther. It's was wonderful to be a part of something that could help others. It always feels good to serve.
